Cochin Airport closed due to flooding

SriLankan Airlines has temporarily suspended flights to and from the South Indian city of Cochin until Saturday August 18 due to the closure of Cochin Airport due to flooding in the region.
 
Cochin Airport was closed today (August 15) until  2 pm on August 18 due to heavy floods  in the area and further updates on the situation are awaited from authorities there, the airline said today. 

“Accordingly, SriLankan Airlines wishes to inform all passengers booked to fly to or from Cochin during this period, that they may opt instead to fly from or to another city served by SriLankan in South India, at no extra charge,” it said.
 
Passengers flying between Cochin and Colombo are requested to contact SriLankan Airlines on the following numbers.
